Product leadership for complex digital businesses.

I care about what changes for your customers and your business — not features shipped or roadmaps presented. Twenty years of doing this in FinTech, gaming, and enterprise software.

Mark Levitt

I'm a product manager with twenty years of experience in platform products, APIs, and developer programs at companies including Betfair, Visa Europe, FanDuel, and OpenText.

My background spans the technical and commercial sides of the role. I've taken APIs from zero to revenue, moved teams from 6-monthly release cycles to continuous delivery, and evaluated platform options at the point where the wrong decision would cost millions. Along the way I've been part of some high-profile outcomes — Visa Europe's €16.5 billion acquisition, FanDuel's $158 million sale to Paddy Power Betfair, and Betfair's £1.5 billion IPO.

Through Deburson Limited, I work on engagements with a specific, measurable goal: a platform defined and ready to build, a team shipping reliably toward clear business objectives, or a technology decision you can commit to with confidence. Every engagement starts by agreeing what good looks like.

Areas of expertise

  • Platform and API product strategy
  • Developer programs and commercial ecosystems
  • FinTech, gaming, and enterprise software
  • Product team alignment and delivery effectiveness
  • Technology evaluation and discovery
  • Regulated environments — US and UK

What you get

I work with businesses that need senior product experience without a permanent headcount commitment. Each engagement is scoped around a specific outcome.

Platform & API Product Strategy

A clear answer on what your platform needs to do, a pricing model that works commercially, and a roadmap your engineering team can actually execute. I've worked this problem at Betfair and OpenText — from initial pricing models through billing infrastructure, developer beta programs, and launch.

Technology Evaluation & Discovery

A defensible recommendation before you commit significant budget — with commercial, technical, and operational analysis to back it up. Useful when you need independent thinking, not a consultant who'll validate whatever you've already decided.

Product Team Effectiveness

A team that ships regularly toward clear business objectives. I've moved teams from 6-monthly release cycles to continuous delivery at Visa Europe, and realigned platform roadmaps at FanDuel to tie directly to retention and revenue goals.

Interim & Contract Product Management

Product management coverage that's productive quickly — no lengthy onboarding, no ramp-up period. Useful when a hiring gap or a specific initiative needs someone who can establish the right success metrics and start moving toward them.

Where I've worked

Twenty years of shipping products that moved commercial metrics — in regulated markets, at scale, and in some cases under significant business pressure.

OpenText
2020 — 2023

Principal Product Manager, Cloud Platform

Took a developer platform from no monetisation model to a live beta program with pricing, billing infrastructure, and a paying developer base. Transitioned the platform architecture from monolithic to modular, removing the delivery bottlenecks that had been slowing feature releases. Launched self-service trials to reduce customer acquisition costs — removing the need for sales involvement in early-stage evaluation.

FanDuel
2015 — 2019

Product Director, Platform Products

Led platform product for a business with 7 million registered users across 43 US states. The notifications platform I shipped improved customer retention by 12% in its first six months. Led the commercial and technical evaluation that shaped FanDuel's Sportsbook strategy after US legalisation — the product generated $372 million in turnover in its first month of trading. The business was acquired by Paddy Power Betfair for $158 million in 2018.

Visa Europe
2013 — 2015

Area Product Owner, Digital

Moved V.me by Visa (now Visa Checkout) from a 6-monthly release cycle to continuous delivery, giving the team the ability to respond to market feedback rather than committing to fixed scope months in advance. Redesigned consumer registration to meet KYC and anti-money laundering requirements without adding unnecessary friction for customers. Visa Europe was acquired by Visa, Inc for €16.5 billion in 2016.

Betfair
2005 — 2013

Technical Product Manager & Developer Advocate

Rebuilt Betfair's Sports Exchange API product — which at the time generated £90 million in annual revenue and handled 15 billion data requests and 40 million transactions per week. Simplified the pricing structure to remove barriers to adoption, delivered a closed beta to validate the new product before full release, and built a developer program that gave the API a commercial identity beyond its technical functionality. Betfair completed its IPO at a £1.5 billion valuation in 2010.
